How to subscribe to Archives

In addition to our listening to WERU’s shows via our live stream and on-demand archives, you can hear our archived shows via subscribing to our Local Public Affairs Archives (https://archives.weru.org) as a podcast.

Definition of Podcasting

First off, if you are not familiar with what podcasting is you may want to read more about it. A good place to start is at wikipedia at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podcasting

How to subscribe

In order to subscribe to a podcast of all or some of our audio archives, you will need a Podcast app, an ‘aggregator’ or, more simply, a utility that will run on your computer or mobile device which will regularly check WERU’s audio archives for updates. When it finds new updates to the feeds you have subscribed to, it will automatically download them so you can listen at your convenience. Popular Podcasting apps are iTunes and Winamp. A full list of podcasting software can be found at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_podcatchers.

Feeds

You can get an RSS feed for any of our shows by simply adding the /feed/ to the end of the URL of the audio archive page for that particular show (as found on the right column of this site). So for example, with Radioactive news, you can simply click on the show name on the right column of this page which will take you to archives.weru.org/category/radioactive and will list all the shows posted in this category. Then simply add /feed/ to the URL making it: archives.weru.org/category/radioactive/feed/ and that gives the RSS feed for all radioactive shows.

We are working on finding other services on the web that we can use to make it easier for people to access our audio archives. Below are links to some of these services we have set up for various shows. If you find any of these particularly useful please let us know at info@weru.org

We have set up the following RSS Feeds with the service Feedburner for a couple individual shows:

  • All WERU shows RSS Feed
  • Boattalk
  • Notes From The Electronic Cottage

You can also subscribe to the feed of all our shows on iTunes

More coming soon. Requests for custom Feedburner feeds or suggestions for changes are welcome. Let us know at info@weru.org.
